Would Miracle toner justify its name? Will I have a miraculous skin post 30 days? Or is it just a marketing tactic? These questions were running in my head when I decided to do a Some by Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 days Miracle toner review.
How did it turn out? You will just find it out.
Is Some by Mi Miracle toner worth the hype?
“AHA, BHA PHA 30 Day Miracle line from Some by Mi,” this very advertisement was a dominant script on my Instagram wall for a fairly long time.
It got me thinking and why wouldn’t it?
Getting a 30-day guarantee from any beauty brand is a big thing and in this case, it came from a brand like “Some by Mi” which is a premium brand in the arena of K-Beauty.
It was raising excitement for everyone but for reviewers like us, well we raised skeptical eyebrows too.
Further, it also promises to treat acne, pigmentation, blackheads, and claims to give a smoother and clearer texture to your skin.
If there are so many promises at stake, then, naturally before endorsing it to anyone, I wanted to give it a first hand or a “first face review” to be precise.
Also, being a person who has dealt with acne all her life, products like these have a soft spot in my heart.
But first, let’s dive into a 360-degree view!
Some by Mi Miracle Toner Packaging
The AHA-BHA-PHA Miracle toner comes packed in a round 150ml green tinted bottle with a screw top. Also, all the details about the ingredients have been explicitly mentioned outside the bottle.
I count it as a plus as it helps in easily understanding the ingredients and the important information about the product.
There are two types of packaging available which majorly vary in terms of the cap design. With the difference in the cap, people often end up feeling that the product they got is not genuine but now you know (so relax).
Some by Mi Miracle Toner – Aroma, Texture, Color
Aroma – Sticking to its organic roots, it has a minty smell. The nice part is that the odour is not overpowering and also lasts for a good number of hours.
Texture–The toner is a lot water-like. It is relatively more watery than other toners I have previously tried. But I think it’s a plus as it allows the liquid to penetrate deep into the skin.
Colour – It is clear or transparent as you say.
Some by Mi Miracle Toner Ingredients
Well, Korean beauty products are all about being cruelty-free and blended with natural ingredients.
Here’s a breakdown of all that goes in the making of Miracle toner.
Key Ingredients | Benefits |
AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acid | It helps in loosening the bond between dead cells and hence, easily removes them from the skin. It also helps in reducing acne marks and dark spots |
BHA or Beta Hydroxy Acid | It reaches out to more deeply formed pores. Their prime function is to clean out the mixture of sebum and dead skin in the clogged pores. |
PHA or PolyhydroxyAcid | It makes sure that your skin doesn’t become dry during exfoliation. |
Tea Tree Extract | It’s like a medicine directly targeting acne. |
Niacinamide | It addresses multiple problems like dull skin, texture, enlarged pores, etc. |
Miracle Toner Review
One of the major points of discussion about this product has been its 3 main ingredients i.e. AHA BHA & PHA.
Yes, I know I talked about it in the above section. However, in the past, I have received a lot of questions about their impact on different skin type.
Hence, I wish to draw special attention to it and take it separately.
Let’ learn ABC… of AHA BHA & PHA
Now we know they are the acids for the skin. Moving on, let’s discuss which acid is responsible for what.
What is AHA, BHA, PHA?
Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA)
Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid are the most known form of AHA. It primarily functions on the topmost layer of the skin. Thereby, it protects skin from elements that directly impact it like reducing sun damage, hyperpigmentation and giving it a smooth texture.
Also, it has anti-inflammatory properties which make it more suitable for people dealing with acne.
Prime Benefits:
- Keeps the moisture intact
- Protects against sun
- Helps in anti-ageing
Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA)
While AHA handles the topmost layer of the skin, it is the BHA that penetrates deeper levels. One of its most knows form is Salicylic Acid. It can dissolve sebum which helps in tightening the pores.
Further, it has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which reduce the redness of the face and acts as a catalyst to calm it down.
You will find many products that have a blend of AHA and BHA. It is done that way as it perfectly suits combination skin which is one of the most common skin types.
Prime Benefits
- Dissolves the oil in the deeper level of skin
- Calms down the redness on the skin
- Revives pores to a healthy condition
Polyhydroxy Acids (PHA)
It is a newer acid in terms of its usage in the beauty world. The most common ones among this category are Gluconolactone acid and Lactobionic acid.
Due to its exfoliating properties, it really helps in mellowing down skin texture.
AHA and PHA differ in terms of their molecule structure. PHA has a larger molecule structure making it less irritating for the skin. Hence, it works best for extra sensitive skin. This element alone fetches high marks in my Miracle toner review
Prime Benefits
- Maintains moisture level
- Works best for sensitive skin
- Speeds up cell renewal
While most products just provide AHA and BHA, the addition of PHA in the miracle toner earns it a few brownie points.
How often can you use AHA BHA PHA?
We have already listed the benefits of the three acids. However, they are still “acids” and, I understand if you get nervous about applying products containing them.
For a product like Miracle toner, it goes through different stages of verification and tests before getting the final approval.
But then,
We all have a different skin type. And that’s why not everything would suit everyone. Generally, the products are made in a way where they can achieve common ground for all skin types, if not; you normally get variants of the same product.
Before trying any new product, I personally go for a patch test on my skin. If I don’t get any allergic reaction, then, I introduce it to my regime as a “once a week sort of a thing.” If that goes well too, only then I fully embrace the product.
I would recommend you to use the same approach for products containing these acids.

Who all can use Miracle toner?
It’s not possible to pin down who exactly can and who can’t. But there are certain common benefits the miracle toner provides to all skin types.
- Despite having AHA, BHA, and PHA, it is still a sub-acidic product. It merely has 5.5 pH that is somewhat similar to the pH level of the skin.
- Approved by KFDA (Korea Food and Drug Administration)
- Contains 10,000 ppm of tea tree leaf extract thus keeping the organic quotient high. I feel more organic the product more lasting benefits it gives.
- The USP of the product “PHA” covers people like me who have sensitive skin.
Other than that, a lot of influencers and beauty experts have in the past did a “Miracle toner review” and found the results pretty promising.
(Unconsciously they are the reason I am doing this review 😛 )
How do you use Some by Mi AHA-BHA-PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner?
Step 1: No Toning on a dirty face
- The best way to thoroughly cleanse your face is to take some cleanser and add a few drops of warm water to it. Massage on your face and around your neck to clean away the dirt.
- Rinse it off with warm water and then give a splash of cold water.
- Lastly, pat dry your face with a clean towel (I always advise to keep a separate towel for face.)
Step 2: Yeah the Miracle Toner time
- Take a cotton pad and soak it a little with the Miracle toner. Koreans are very sensitive about their skin hence they like to dap rather than sweep. So dab the cotton pad on your face and neck.
- Leave the toner for 3-4 minutes. Give your skin the time to absorb it in.
Step 3: Moisturize to Rise
Although PHA in Miracle Toner will help to lock in moisture, but, applying moisturizer will help to soak in ingredients in a better way. So in the last step, moisturize and allow your skin to rise 😉
My Experience with Some by Mi 30 Days Miracle Toner
Rather than segmenting things week by week, I believe it makes more sense to show you the difference between the day when I didn’t apply the product and the difference I felt after 30 days.
As it normally takes any product 3-4 weeks to show any significant difference, hence no point to flood the blog with unnecessary pimple pictures.
Skin Condition: Day 1
Figure 1: The plain skin without the Miracle
My acnes are more seasonal. They will pop loud and proud in summers but will go back in their secret hideout during winters. (PS: I love winters). This being the summer season got me all panicky about acnes.
As you can see me in the picture I have concentrated pimples on my cheeks. Although I only go for dermatologically recommended products, I broke this rule for my dear readers.
Miracle Toner: Usage
Before starting with the challenge I did a patch test. It went right.
After that, I introduced the product in my morning routine. I had no allergies so this phase went right too.
Finally, I also included it my night regime. (I used to apply it through a cotton pad)
Skin Condition Day 30 (Breaking the suspense)
Figure 2: The Miracle after 30 days
So here is the core of my miracle toner review.
Let’s address the elephant, the acne. It considerably wiped them off; however, it didn’t help much in reducing the overall redness. I also did not have many breakouts during these 30 days, so that’s a plus.
Surprisingly, it did brighten my skin. Because it only has 2% Niacinamide, so I didn’t expect much in this territory, I speculate because of the right blend of all the other ingredients it showed a significant difference.
Since this toner locks in moisture, I reduced the quantity of my moisturizer to create the balance. I think this helped in smoothening the overall texture of my skin.
I have decided to give it a try for another 15 days to see if it further helps in reducing the redness. As it has been able to prevent further breakouts, so I strongly believe it will turn out to be useful.
Frequently Asked Questions: Some by Mi Miracle toner
Can you use the Miracle toner both day and night?
As I mentioned in my miracle toner review, I started by using it only in the morning after cleansing my face. But as I got positive effects, I also made it a part of my evening regime.
Again, I will say the same thing. Give the product some time, see if it works and only then go full throttle.
Is the Miracle toner cruelty-free?
The brand supports the no-animal-testing regulation as they also value a cruelty-free label on all of their cosmetic products.
So yes, it’s cruelty-free and filled with the goodness of natural ingredients.
Can I use the toner every day?
There is no harm. But also see how your skin responds to it. If it causes you further skin problems, stop using it immediately and see your dermatologist as soon as possible.
Conclusion
Personally, it has given me good results and so I will stick to the Miracle Toner. There are extremely few products in the market that actually work for acne and I think it is one of those products.
I give it an 8 out 10. Okay, 8.5! 😀
